Turtle Craft

Janis Cox is the illustrator of Adam’s Animals – Fun Facts About God’s Creation. She is also an author, watercolour artist, wife, mother and grandma — but most of all she’s a faithful follower of Jesus. She’s been retired from teaching for over 15 years but finds herself back into her passion of working with children.

Janis created the craft in the photo above. Janis writes, “This is a craft that I had my children do at school in art lessons. It is great for dexterity, colour, and placement of objects. This week I am showing you how to make a picture called Torn Tadeo Turtle. Of course this can be extended for any picture.”

Artist of Adam’s Animals writes about the Locust

locust, beetle, caterpillar, cricket - grasshopper

What is very small with no king but has great power?

Four things on earth are small,
    yet they are extremely wise:
 Ants are creatures of little strength,
    yet they store up their food in the summer;
hyraxes are creatures of little power,
    yet they make their home in the crags;
locusts have no king,
    yet they advance together in ranks;

They may be small without a king but locusts have great power.

GoodReads Reviews of Adam’s Animals – Fun Facts about God’s Creation

Adam’s Animals by Canadian author Kimberley Payne is the second book in her series on Science and Faith Matters. This delightful children’s book is illustrated by author Janis Cox and is a perfect supplement for homeschoolers or kids that love science.

Kimberley looks at the creatures found in the Bible and gives children some incredible scientific facts about them. She then follows those facts up with Scripture references from the Bible on what God has to say about the many animals she has listed in this book. If your child is one who likes “Did you know…?” books, they’ll love this one. Included in the book are word search activities and pictures to colour.
Yes, science and faith does matter because God created them both and the author has beautifully shown how the two go hand in hand. I only wish I had something like this when I homeschooled my kids. I give this book 5/5 stars!

Adam's Animals

What a delightful book to help children learn about God’s creatures! With illustrations to color, word search puzzles, scripture and fascinating facts about animals, children will have fun while learning, using “Adam’s Animals: Fun Facts About God’s Creation.” From ants to worms, children will not only find the facts interesting, some will even make them giggle. At the same time, they are learning how creative God is that he would make so many animals with distinct characteristics. Excellent resource for home schooling or school use.
